Hopefully our work speaks clearly to you about our differences and specialties. But here are a few points on how to strategically use Uncommercials to make your next brand communication the best marketing story you’ve ever told.
We think we’re unmatched when it comes to shaping and conveying longer-form product and brand stories. And some of the world’s most respected brands and agencies agree with us on that.
Don’t settle for those stiff, staged moments you get from regular commercials. Whether it’s real people, real employees or real customers, we make them all real believable.
Tracy Helms draws on over 30 years experience as a journalist and director, having worked with kings, presidents, champions of business, celebrities and athletes. He’s known for making both the process and the product flawless for high-end clients and organizations.
The harder the story, the more you probably need us. We are specialists in this space and have developed proprietary practices to ensure that your message comes to life with the highest levels of clarity, connection and credibility.
Our more agile approaches to location filming have proven to create tremendous advantages in coverage and cost efficiency for our clients.
Tracy Helms is the founder and chief attendant of Unleaded, as well as its production studios Uncommercials, where he writes, shoots, directs, edits and collaborates with the rest of the unregulars.
Before that, he was a director at Cucoloris Films in Venice and Scream Pictures in Hollywood.
Before that, he was a creative director, writer and group head at advertising agencies such as TM Advertising, Bozell and Young & Rubicam.
Before that, he was a columnist and sportswriter at the Atlanta Journal-Constitution and a correspondent for TIME and the Associated Press.
Along the way, he’s created unusually effective and emotional-driven brand stories, positioning strategies, ad campaigns and thought leadership initiatives for some of the world’s most respected companies and causes.
Some of our best work, most of our case studies and all of our proprietary formulas are not for public viewing. But we do love showing them to those interested in getting to know more about working with us.

We’re always interested in discovering and helping causes that you feel are important and making a difference – particularly those that might not get the attention or resources they deserve. Send us a link or comment to unselfish@unleadedstudios.com and maybe it’ll make our featured causes short list for the coming year.
Each year, through the Unselfish Fund, we make financial donations and/or work contributions to the three non-profit groups or initiatives that our team and our clients have helped to discover and select. As evident by the wonderful initiatives you can learn about below, our emphasis is on the more unpublicized or under-appreciated organizations who are truly making the most out of their limited resources.
We love approaching things differently, especially when it leads to dramatic results for everyone involved. And Unselfish is a perfect example of that. It all began when we said, rather than paying the usual sales rep fees and all the related costs, what if we simply apply those amounts to the causes and charities that mean the most to our clients and our staff.
Already this has helped fund and allow some memorable charitable donations and campaigns. So why don’t we now help the cause or causes that are closest to your heart?
Here’s how it works. Unleaded, Uncommercials and Uncontent donate 5% of net profits from all new projects based on the preferences of those clients. You can designate a non-profit cause of your choice. Or, you can have the amount placed in the Unselfish Fund, which is divided up and distributed to our featured charities according to the collective votes of our clients, staff and strategic partners.
We announce the charities chosen by our clients, staff and partners in July of each year, and donations of work or funds are made to those causes by the end of the year. Our emphasis is on the more unpublicized or under-appreciated organizations who are truly making the most out of their limited resources.
But you can participate at any time. If there’s a cause that’s close to your heart or that you feel is in need of creative resources or fund-raising, tell us about it. Send us a link or comment to unselfish@unleadedstudios.com and we’ll add the your cause to the candidates for our annual featured charities.
At least six times a year, we open our office doors in downtown Dallas to local non-profit organizations for a full free day of consulting, creative services and whatever we can do to help their cause. We pull in our teams, those of our strategic partners and any and all marketing professionals from the area who want to help.
It’s all of course entirely free to the charitable organizations. And structured in an open-house format that’s fun and flexible for everyone involved.
If you represent a qualified non-profit organization, contact us at unselfish@unleadedstudios.com for the 2012 schedule of Unselfish Saturdays.
(Plans for Unselfish Saturdays are also in the works for NYC, Miami and Houston. Contact us if you would like to participate or know of a non-profit in those cities who could use our help.)
Thank you for your submission. We'll respond to your RFP thoughts ASAP. Expect to hear from us within a few hours.
We’re always interested in getting to know and hire the most talented folks we can find. Unless they call or email us first before proving all that.
If you think you and your wares are up to the standard, regardless of what your discipline, send us a link, portfolio or some compelling proof to – and only to - jobs@unleadedstudios.com.
Consider any other email blasts, reminder calls, chat attacks, snail mail or surprise visits an instant deal-killer. This of course does not apply to the right holiday fruit assortment, box of truffles or designer cheesecake.

No annoying sales calls. No pushy emails. No uncleverly disguised tweets or promotional ploys. We’ve replaced all of that with a more self-service approach to hiring us. And then we put those usual rep fees toward causes we think are a bit more lasting than, say, a pizza lunch at the agency.

Unleaded Studios
1700 Pacific Avenue
Dallas, Texas 75201

Our offices in the 1700 Pacific tower overlook Thanksgiving Square and Pacific Avenue. Right in the heart of downtown. And perfectly stationed at the intersection of strategy, marketing and brand content.
The world certainly doesn’t need any more untargeted, unfocused videos. But there will always be a special place for product stories that matter. Those that define or refine. Inform, intrigue or inspire. Simplify or clarify.
We specialize in helping businesses – and their brands and agencies – find that very place. Every time. At each stage of communication. Across all mediums, channels and initiatives. With brand films. Corporate presentations. Product introductions. Web series. And all the other content areas that are emerging so quickly they don’t yet have proper monikers.
Uncommercials was founded and is overseen by Tracy Helms, who draws on his unique experience in journalism, advertising and commercial production to shoot and shape messages that work dramatically different than traditional commercials.
The Uncommercials studios are part of Unleaded's main offices in the lobby floor of the 1700 Pacific tower in downtown Dallas, overlooking Thanksgiving Square.

We’re a very elite team, but we’re hardly elitists. And we’re always seeking to begin or expand relationships with the best production and post crew, as well as up and coming photographers, cameramen and motion graphics designers. You’ll find details at the Job Opportunities link below.
