Get out of the commercials business.

It’s time you broke free from conventional ad approaches. And embraced the transformative marketing power of trust-based, authentic storytelling across all broadcast mediums. Good news is, you’re in the perfect place to start. Uncommercials is part think tank, part production company, and part thought leader when it comes to web films, interactive content and brand stories. Yet, as a whole, we think you’ll be hard pressed to find another resource that combines the journalistic formulas, ad agency experience and writing/directing disciplines with such innovation and effectiveness. But you be the judge. After all, we’re in the trust business. So, we only want clients who are fully confident they have the most reliable and results-driven partner. We look forward to the chance to be all of that for you and your brands.

Ironically, every buzzword suddenly applies to us.

Old Gas Station SignOkay, so here’s where we get to drop our “we were green before green was cool” sound bite. Pick your buzzword to sum up the new marketing mentality – accountability, scalability, agility – and you’ll find that we’ve been a hybrid leading that charge for over seven years.

It’s quite a ways down the road from when we launched Unleaded in 2003 as a little station for the industry specializing in trust-based, content-driven messaging. And some 600 web films, brand movies and interactive episodes later, it all seems like a blur. A very high-octane and enjoyable blur, that is.

The formulas that propelled us here are constantly mixing with new ideas and fresh best practices to keep driving our clients’ business. And while we don’t publish our Uncommercials playbook on the web for obvious reasons, here’s an executive summary of how our proprietary formulas can pour new life and energy into your internal and external marketing.

Filming at 297 kilometers per hour and often on two wheels.

Don’t let the headline fool you. Yes, the BMW M5 Ring Taxi has four very agile 20-inch wheels. It’s just when Sabine Schmitz is piloting it around the 112 sharp corners of the world’s most treacherous Formula One track, there’s no promise they’ll all be hugging the pavement.

We filmed Sabine and The Ring as part of the latest series in the American Airlines Milestones travel campaign – and what a perfect ending to a high-flying tour of filming that included over 60 days in Spain, Argentina, Uruguay, Canada and Germany during 2009. You can see some of those featured movies here or on American’s site at www.aa.com/milestones.

Look for the Germany series to launch soon on aa.com, as well as upcoming Caribbean films. But in the meantime, start planning on burning some of your miles for the one-of-a-kind adrenaline rush that is The Ring.

Quick, effortless project management and file sharing is a must for our Uncommercials team. With our staff and core freelancers scattered from New Zealand to Austin to Madrid, and our clients spanning more than 30 countries, we lean heavily and regularly on Basecamp to keep collaboration at full steam. And Basecamp projects, combined with the simple but hefty file-sharing capabilities of DropBox, let us work easily and immediately with folks and files the world over. Take a free test drive of these platforms with your org and you’ll discover why we’ve gone so far to put such a testimonial on an otherwise 100% uncommercial site.
